Polyester is a category of polymers consisting mainly of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Polyester is a synthetic polymer of PTA and MEG. Polyester yarns are the main products in the category of polyester. Almost 40% of global production of polyester is used directly for manufacturing polyester yarn.
Polyester yarn spinning is done by direct PTA and MEG. It spun PET Chips is also a product made from BI PTA & MEG. Some of the products of the world's largest production of PTA are British Petroleum, Reliance, Sinopec, SK-Mitsui Chemical and Eastman Chemicals. MEG production is in the hands of about 10 global players in charge of a joint venture between Dow and PIC of Kuwait MEGlobal followed by Sabic.
The main use of polyester has been in the textile industry for the manufacture of polyester son. Polyester in various forms, is widely used in demand textile polyester (PET) resin filament and son as partially oriented yarn (POY), polyester Drawn son textured (DTY), fully drawn polyester yarn (FDY) of polyester staple fiber (PSF), polyester yarn (PSY), technical Son tire cord and Mono filament yarn. Polyester yarn used in the application package, such as polyester films, insulating tape, Other strips and more everyday items. Son of polyester filament is used in knitwear and woven to make fabrics such as polyester and consumption of furniture, such as curtains, sheets, bedspreads and curtains. Also the son of high tenacity industrial polyester can be used to make ropes, conveyor belts, belts security and fabrics for tires. Polyester staple fiber is used primarily as fiber filled orders with pillows, cushions, sofas and beds. Son of Dope dyed yarn can be used to make the son of Dope dyed DTY.
DTY Son of Polyester also available in different colors dope dyed by dye technology or traditional. DTY dope dyed is generally packaged in paper rolls whereas brown DTY Dyed be used is less compact in perforated plastic tube, so that all children can be easily stained when the coil is immersed in color. DTY is mainly produced in large quantities in China, India and Taiwan, and exported worldwide.
